Reese's Protein Smoothie

Holy crap, you guys. This is THE smoothie to make. I mean...everybody's doing it. You ain't cool if you don't make this shake. It's great pre workout, post workout...or for no reason at all other than the fact that you're in the mood for a ridiculously tasty smoothie that tastes as good as a milkshake without the detrimental health impacts of an actual milkshake. Don't get me wrong, I've splurged on milkshakes before...they're my kryptonite...but when I do, my cheeks jiggle for like two weeks afterwards. Not cute. No thanks. 

So, despite my tangent above about how rad this drink is (because IT IS), I will slap the disclaimer on this post that - though I love them - I don't drink smoothies daily. I mostly just drink them out of convenience when I need some fuel in a hurry. OR when I have a hankering for a little something sweet, this bad boy is a go to. While I do believe that chewing my nutrients is a better choice than drinking them (since all these nutritionists have me bamboozled and brainwashed...jk - they really are pretty smart), I also believe that drinking a clean ingredient smoothie is a way better choice than drowning in a McFlurry. 

That said, this delectable little treat allows me to drink my milkshake sans the jiggle. Win! Plus, it's a great way to get a little extra protein in. SLUURRRPPPPP!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use SFH Chocolate Pure)
  • 1-2 tbsp sun butter (depending on how much "monkey" you want)
  • Add 1 tsp instant espresso for something really special!
