Realistically, this rub tastes good on EVERYTHING. Chicken, pork, eggs, you name it. That said, I specify "Seafood Rub" because that is what I use it on the most. It just MAKES the dish. I think I've eaten 6 lbs of salmon in the past week alone because I can't get enough of this rub on a pan seared salmon filet.
If you are cheesy like me, you might also like to make this for a friend! Yeah, yeah, I know....giving someone a collaboration of spices and calling it a "gift" sounds super lame, but whatever...it's fun to share things you enjoy with others! Add all the ingredients to a cute little spice jar or mason jar, shake it all up, and there ya go - a nice little somethin' to bring your dinner host...or your manfriend's parents like I did :)
It's best to make this in bulk so you can have it on hand for whenever you're in the mood to dress up your protein...which should really be all the time, because a plain piece of fish or chicken is just kinda boring. Now go forth and feast, my friends!
- 1 tbsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp granulated garlic
- 1/2 tbsp coriander
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- Place all ingredients in a jar, shake and rub (on whatever you want...but try to keep it PG).
