Honey mustard is one of my all time favorite condiments. The purpose of this creation was to come up with some kind of alternative to honey mustard. Now - honey mustard can be perfectly paleo approved when you make it yourself using real ingredients (100% raw honey preferred), but I just wanted to try something else out and see how I could channel that sweet mustardy flavor using other natural ingredients (though, admittedly, honey still made its way into the ingredients list...but that's neither here nor there).
I had a girlfriend over for dinner recently, and we were just in the mood to be lazy, eat kids food and watch a movie in our sweats. Nothing crazy. SO, chicken tenders were in order, and (with only four simple ingredients) I whipped this up in a snap using my brand spankin' new Blendtec Total Blender for dipping. It was the bomb, seriously. I also love spreading this on my hard boiled eggs. You can do whatever you want with it! All I know is, it makes a great refrigerator staple. Dip on!
- 1 cup cubed mango (I used thawed Trader Joe's frozen mangoes)
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- Pinch of sea salt to taste
- Toss it all in a food processor or high speed blender and do yo' thang.
